Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. In addition to your username and password, you will use a one-time verification code generated by an authenticator app on your phone when signing in.

1. Open the 2FA Settings

Sign in to the Valores Metal Account application and select “Enable 2FA” from the profile menu. This option is available in both the desktop and mobile versions of the application.

2. Install an Authenticator App

To use 2FA, you need an authenticator app on your mobile phone.

The most commonly used authenticator apps include:

• Google Authenticator – Android (Google Play) | iPhone (App Store)
• Microsoft Authenticator – Android (Google Play) | iPhone (App Store)
• 2FAS Auth – Android (Google Play) | iPhone (App Store)

If you already use one of these apps, you do not need to install another one.

3. Scan the QR Code

After selecting “Enable 2FA”, a window containing your personal QR code will appear. Open your chosen authenticator app, add a new account and scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

After successfully scanning the QR code, the app will start generating one-time 6-digit verification codes.

Important: Do not share your QR code with anyone or send it via email or other communication channels.

4. Enter the Verification Code

Find the newly added Valores account in your authenticator app. Enter the 6-digit code displayed in the authenticator app into the field below the QR code and click “Enable”.

Two-factor authentication is now successfully enabled on your account.

Using 2FA After Activation

Once 2FA is enabled, you will need to enter a verification code from your authenticator app:

• every time you sign in to the Valores Metal Account application,
  when making changes to SEPA payments.

Whenever the application requests a 2FA code, simply open your authenticator app and enter the currently displayed 6-digit code.

Your password and 2FA code together provide an additional layer of protection for your Valores Metal Account.
